Psalm 13 This mosaic clock depicts how time seems to slow down when in dark, hard times. The tiles in this mosaic were intentionally placed one by one as a gradient tunnel where light is peeking through. There is light at the end of the tunnel because of the cross. Yet in order to see that light, we must fix our gaze on Jesus Christ. If you look closely, you’ll notice music notes etched into the path. This depicts the person walking in such hard times, praising the Lord even so, as seen in verse 6. My friend, there is light at the end of the tunnel because of the grace of the cross. Sometimes that tunnel, those billowing waves seem to never end, as David writes about. And if we are honest, most of us have gone through a time in life when the Lord has not felt near. When he feels like he is far off or has abandoned us. But he hasn’t. He is near, not hiding his face from us, but collecting every tear in a bottle. Even through the darkness, we trust, just as in verse 5. We trust because the same God that has proven himself faithful time and time again has promised to bring redemption. So, until then friend, sing aloud praises to the Lord - even if it is a whisper you can hardly get out, for He has been good to us.
